i find it so odd and gross that so many “feminists” are just people who don’t want to change anything but how people view misogynist things. they don’t want to end sexual exploitation of women, just how people look at it, they don’t want to end female beauty standards and practices, just how people view them, they don’t want to end misogyny, they just want to change how people view misogynist things (and make them see those things as not misogynist). if that’s what feminism was, it would be so easy, but that is not feminism and it will never end female oppression. ending female oppression is not easy, it’s upsetting, it’s horrifying, it’s tiring, it’s a lot of analyzing, a lot of anger, a lot of fear, it’s a lot of work, and it’s having to face a terrifying reality that you would far rather pretend doesn’t exist. It’s going against what a lot of people (and yes, including women) believe and feel, but it’s understanding that everyone has been socialized in a patriarchal society and their views, actions, thoughts and feelings will reflect that. Feminism is not easy, it isn’t simple, and isn’t fun.
